Job Description: An Inc. 500 self-publishing service company is seeking an effective customer service candidate for a home-based, independent contractor opportunity. In addition to highly adept communication skills (both written and verbal), the candidate is required to have a personal computer with high-speed internet access, reliable phone service in a quiet space through-out the business day, and email capabilities.

Responsibilities/Expectations
-Become familiar with the publishing industry and the publishing services offered in order to provide advice and assistance to our clients regarding their publishing choices.
-Ability to think outside the box to avoid/solve problems that arise from the unique nature of each client’s particular project circumstances.
-Provide a high level of customer service to our clients via phone and email throughout the production process. Client communication is expected to be answered within 12 hours
-Be available to communicate with clients during regular business hours with occasional communication happening on nights and weekends.
-Facilitate the production process for the client by coordinating with the book designer, cover designer, and other service providers as necessary for completion of the galley review and print ready files, and updating online project databases.

Compensation is based on the actual work performed under the contract on a per title basis. Customer Care Representatives earn $40+ per title, (including additional revenue potential in association with various options selected by the client and a potential $25 client satisfaction bonus per title). These payments are made for the administration of each client from production approval through publication. The publishing process typically ranges from 4 to 8 weeks with approximately 2-3 hours of total work involved, on average. The typical Customer Care Representative has 100+ active projects at any given time.
