Work from Home Business Ideas - Work at Home Jobs

For reasons that escape me now, I kept sort of a diary during my
first full year of working at a home based business. It was
nothing close to being a complete daily diary, but was more of a
collection of scribbles about things that I felt were worthy of
note at the time. Since quite a bit of time has passed since
then, I decided to revisit these notes.
In no particular order, here are some of the things that I had
made note of.

It seems everyone wants to do it: Work from home, that is. Whether it?s being able to work in their pajamas, or getting to spend some extra time with their children, something is prompting people to consider giving up their day job to look for this “alternative” form of employment. The only problem seems to be actually finding a work-from-home job! Where are these companies that have openings for telecommuters? And how does one go about finding them?

The first things to look at are your skills and interests. Working from home is in some ways more difficult than working outside the home (but more fun, since you don’t have to leave your children), so do what you love if at all possible.
Next, decide if you are interested in a job or a business. You will need to consider the hours you want to work as well. Many jobs need you during traditional business hours; others allow you to work your own. Likewise, many home businesses need regular hours, others, such as party plans, require a great deal of evening and weekend work.

Landing a telecommute position isn?t easy. Finding them in the first place is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Then, when you finally do find one that looks promising, it?s filled before you can even click on ?apply for this job?.
Why are they so few and far between anyway? Don?t employers realize the benefits of allowing their employees to telecommute; less sick time, increased productivity, lower overhead, and so forth?
